Its That Time of Year Again...

Let us reflect on all the good and bad points from the past year, but also allow us to move forward to create new, beautiful memories in this year to come. I thank each and every one of you who have been there for me, supporting my pursuit of greatness in this hectic entertainment industry. I pray that 2010 blesses me and each and everyone of you with nothing but positivity and good fortune. I'll leave my 2010 goals (I suppose you all consider them resolutions) for ya'll to see, hopefully you all have similar goals set for yourselves:

1. I am returning to college (The Art Academy Online) at the beginning of February. Hopefully I will be obtaining my bachelors degree in Graphic Design.

2. I plan on releasing 2-3 albums this year. An instrumental project titled "Motherland", inspired by music from Africa. My original debut project thats been on hold since 2007, "Make Music" should hopefully get a proper/real release this year, God willing. Outside of that, I have several projects in the making with different artists that I hope get completed and put out there for you all to enjoy.

3. I know many folks follow my writings/literature, I'm in the process of starting my first book, called "Its Human Nature". Lord knows how long its going to take me to get it completed and processed but I definitely am going to give it my all.

My bad people!!! Just want to give ya'll the run down on a few things.

1. My instrumental album, Nonpareil: Visual Sound dropped about two weeks ago. It's a free download and for all those soulful beat lovers, this one is for you. You can cop that over on my website http://www.nfinit3.com or via the direct link here.

2. Southernboi Entertainment's CEO Big T dropped a new project today titled The Big T Chronicles and you can find that on datpiff.com and iTunes. It features production by me so make sure you check that out. You can preview his songs on his myspace page.

3. Lastly, I recently signed a deal with a clothing company based out of New York called J-List LTD. They got some hot gear and I recently had the opportunity to model some of the items in a photoshoot. For those interested in the clothes you can check out their items at here. In addition they also have a lifestyles website based around fashion, sports, music and entertainment that I write for weekly so make sure you check that out. Hello world, Nfinit3 here. I know I've been ghost for awhile but I just wanted to let everyone know I'm still alive and well. There comes a time in a persons life when they have to take a step back, reassess the coming/going and make some lifechanging decisions. Well, I've been on a break trying to get the man behind the music together so that I could come back strong. Things don't always go as planned but that doesn't mean the progress halts. With that said, here are the plans and happenings in and around my career that are scheduled to occur in the near future. My instrumental album, Nonpareil, still remains 95% done and should be out for free before the end of the year. You can also expect a new Nfinit3 interview on EnterthezoneTV soon. I'm in the process of inking my first sponsorship deal with a clothing line, J-List LTD, so make sure everyone checks that out once it happens You'll get deals and so on for copping gear from them through me. There is an EP in the works, produced entirely by myself, K-Beta on the rhymes (hopefully) in a tribute style project for the late Michael Jackson. If it comes together properly, you all can expect a dope dope project. My original debut album, Make Music (which has yet to be released), is about 80% complete and I would like to finally put it out there with some dignity and distribution behind it. Where are you from?

I’m originally from the panhandle of West Virginia but I have been residing in Winchester, VA, what I consider an extended locale of the DC/DMV area, for many years now.

What do you do besides music?

I definitely express myself through the arts, which does include this whole musical movement. I write poetry and do a little designing as well. I actually went to college for Graphic Design. Outside of that, I work as an activities coordinator/art teacher/counselor at a facility for neglected, abused and low functioning children. Its quite an experience.

What do you love and hate about the music industry?

This is a serious question ha ha…well. I’d have to say I love the fact that those who paved the way and presented us with the real, meaningful hip-hop are still around and still putting out products and promoting worthwhile material. People like Nas, Jay-Z, De La Soul, Pete Rock, Big Daddy Kane, KRS One (to name a few), they’re all still actively trying to educate folks on what this whole genre is supposed to mean and be about. Furthermore, there are artists in the new age who are still putting out good music. The underground stays abuzz with a lot of talent. Some are getting the shine they deserve, others are content with where they are and who’s listening to them.

On the flip side, I hate that the industry is flooded with a lot of nonsense. I’m far from a hater, but when I turn on the radio or the television I’m just not impressed or interested in what I hear and see. Its rare to hear someone saying something of significance these days. Like I said before, you have to go elsewhere to hear what you want to hear. I don’t even use the radio in my car anymore. I keep the ipod fresh and uptodate with what I consider hiphop.

What/who inspired you to become an artist?

While I was in college I started to develop a niche/feel for what I enjoyed. My inspiration started with 9th Wonder, Little Brother and Kanye West. Then I discovered the work of J. Dilla and decided to educate myself on Preemo and Pete Rock. It was like heaven to my ears.

Who have you worked with or would like to work with?

As far as who I’ve worked with, I’ve had several artists who have local notariety in their respective areas. That list includes Bucky Dolla, Range da Messenga and P. Genz. Most notably, I’ve worked with Phocuz who is a Justus League/Hall of Justus affiliate.

I’ve been itching to get some artists that I respect, musically and personally, on my next mixtape. I’d love to have Royce da 5′9, Jean Grae, Sean Price, Wale, Marky, Oddisee and Freeway all involved in my next installment of my Track Sessions Series…along with the folks who I’ve been working with. You got some connections? Tell them to hit me up, ha ha.

How would you describe your style?

I’d consider myself an extremely soulful, consistent ‘bridge between the old school and new school’ type of producer. For me it’s like remodeling the past to deliver something new for today and tomorrow. I’m like a collage of all the producers before me, I learn something, soak it in and apply it to my own work.

What projects are you working on and have worked on?

I have several projects available now. “The Mixed Bag Effect” and “The Almighty Dolla” were both joint albums with artist Bucky Dolla that I produced entirely. Why should people listen to your music?

Why shouldn’t they? I’m not the bragging type, nor am I going to throw what I do in the faces of the fans and listeners. If you enjoy soulful, melodic, real music with a positive message then this is for you. If you miss the hip-hop of the 80’s and 90’s when it was fun and meaningful then you will enjoy what I have to offer. Nothing is watered down, its presented with the intent to move you mentally. Just take a listen, I promise I won’t let you down.

About the artist:

As a youngster, Bucky began his involvement with hip hop during elementary school, rapping with friends, rapping reports in classes. He had discovered his love for music very early on. As the years progressed, he found himself battling, writing, and freestyling everywhere he went and with everything he did. Even though his love for hip hop was strong, his ties to the street kept him from pursuing his passion. It wasn't until he started hanging with Young Team founder Mikey Rivera (aka M-Burb) that he started to take the music thing more seriously. Fast forward to 2007… As the buzz surrounding hip hop in and around the Washington D.C. metropolitan area grew stronger, Bucky became one of the stronger emcees in the area. Representing Young Team (Y.T.), his current crew, and Manassas ("M-City," as he could call it), Bucky began to gain local notoriety . 2008 promises to be a successful year with the release of his first solo project "The Mixed Bag Effect," a collaboration with producer Nfinit3 (also from the Northern Virginia area), as well as his mixtape "Year of the Golden Child," and other Y.T. projects dropping later this year. Keep an eye on this young, rugged, yet soulful emcee as he shines his light upon the current state of hip hop.

I Am Going To Make It...

So what does it take to make it in 'the game' these days? Is it just having good music and a good product? Is it having the 'hot right now'/trendy track? Is it based on who you know and what connects you have in the industry? Is it a combination or all of the above? You can have all the love and support in the world and still end up on the outside looking in. Now, its true that not everyone who makes music is deserving of a spot in the limelight but there are some artists out here putting in work and pumping out good music who remain, for the most part, unacknowledged. Now from my position/perspective, being a relatively unknown producer, I strongly believe in the idea/concept of just making beautiful music, building relationships with talented artists and putting it out there to be heard. If the right ears hear the work and the music is indeed that good, then positive reactions should follow. To add upon that though, you cannot JUST put it out there and expect people to JUST listen. If you strongly believe in and support your own work, then you must invest in it. You have to forcefeed the sound into their ears until they cannot take anymore and once you've reached that point, give them some more. If you invited people to come hear your cd you wouldn't place it on a desk and hope it got played. You make sure you have their attention, then you put it in and play it. FEED it to them. You also have to realize that it takes a lot of time, work and slow progression to have any opportunity at all. I find it easier to handle as much of your own work/business as possible but sometimes you're going to want or need assistance from others. It's a test of patience, sometimes people are willing, sometimes they aren't. Sometimes people don't meet deadlines or get things to you when you want them. Sometimes people bullshit and never do a thing for you at all. Overall you have to keep it moving, don't let the mishaps or disappointments get you down. It goes right back to my original claim, if the music is indeed that good then the people are listening. Regardless of the good or bad you encounter, your biggest fan has to always be and remain yourself. So with that said, we all have to continue to do what we love to do, chase the dreams until we convert them into our realities. Atleast thats what I plan to do. Hear me out world. Fear not people, it is quite common for albums to get pushed back or even shelved but this one will indeed be out soon and very soon. I've been learning a lot about the industry and putting out a legit project. Deadlines are never met, alternative ideas usually end up as the primary choices and no matter how much you try, you CANNOT do it all on your own. The politics of the business are quite stressful. With me being so unknown, I can hardly imagine what the big name artists endure on the regular. No wonder we're about to recieve LupEND (Lupe Fiasco) and Good Ass Job (Kanye West). Either way, the album, The Mixed Bag Effect, will be digitally released on multiple distribution sites in the near future so I hope you all enjoy it when it drops. It was completed in 12 days but the 'business' have it parked at the moment. Thanks for your patience and continued support. So the advancements in technology and easy access to today's latest and hottest music has left starving artists with even more difficulties to 1. be acknowledged for their abilities and 2. make any considerable amount of money for their work. Mp3 players battle with the compact disc while piracy competes with album sales. Where do we draw the line? How do YOU support your favorite artists/music? As I drift along in this game with hopes of being recognized and make a little change, I maintain a realistic state of mind and have no expectations of fans or sales. This is no call or plea for your time, money or attention but rather a reminder that if you love my music, or any other artists for that matter, show your support. Buy their products, share their sound with others, point music lovers in their direction. Let them know how much you truly appreciate their hardwork and craftsmanship. We, the makers of good music, need you now more than ever. It is indeed a new day and age but this is still music and we all love it, one way or another, no matter the genre, no matter the artist. Recently fem-cee Vibe H.O.T.T. released her debut album "Originality" which features 2 tracks produced by Nfinit3. On Feb. 28th Big T is releasing his debut solo album "Seed of the Sign" which also features production by the Nfinit3. Coming soon, P. Genz's next album titled "Sincerely Mines", which too features production from producer Nfinit3. Nfinit3's version of Jay-Z's American Gangster titled "American Soulstar" will be released in coming days but in the meantime be sure to visit his myspace page (www.myspace.com/nfinit3) to hear two of those songs. Nfinit3 began making beats in 2003. Over the last four years he's improved and developed his skills as a producer. The past year has seen a boom in his career with an increase in support/acclaim as he began working with more polished artists and delivering better quality recordings. In the midst of releasing his debut album, "Make Music", Nfinit3 gives us "The Track Sessions Vol. 1", a collection of unheard/older tracks and beats for free while we anticipate the official release of his debut.
